Arsenal have been drawn against Sporting in the last 16 of the Europa League.
The draw was made on Friday following the conclusion of the play-off rounds last night that saw third-placed teams from the Champions League group stage take on the teams who finished second in their Europa League groups.
Having topped their group, the Gunners were able to sit back and watch as the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona battled it out for a spot in the latter stages of the competition.
The first leg of the round of 16 will take place on 9 March and will see the Gunners travel to Lisbon before returning to the Emirates on 16 March.
Should they progress, the Gunners will begin quarter-final fixtures on 13 April. This year’s final is scheduled to take place in Budapest.
