Arsenal set to seal double-deal…and is a third on the way?

After the whirlwind signing of Leaondro Trossard on Thursday, Arsenal and Edu looked to have struck again in the transfer market with the light-speed acquisition of Jakub Kiwior.

According to multiple reports, the 22-year-old Pole is set to arrive in north London from Spezia, in Serie A, for a deal worth around £20million, following hot on the heels of the £21million move for Belgian Trossard.

Kiwior has impressed over the last 18 months in Italy and has earned nine senior caps for Poland. He can play at left back, left centre back and in midfield, bringing a type of versatility that has become something of a hallmark of Mikel Arteta’s squad building.

Despite a frenzied 48 hours, however, it looks like Arteta and technical director Edu might not be done just yet, with reports circulating that Ivan Fresneda is set to sign for the club from Valladolid in Spain, although there is said to be work still to do to get that deal over the line.

Fresneda, 18, plies his trade at right back and, in truth, is probably more of a purchase for the future but could be interesting nonetheless as Arteta vies to add depth to a squad that is vying for a first Premier League title in near 20 years.

If nothing else, the Gunners have moved on quickly from the dual disappointments of missing out on Mudryk and Joao Felix. It remains to be seen whether they will try again for an attacking option in this window.
