Arsenal have entered the race to sign Belgium midfielder Leondro Trossard from Brighton and Hove Albion, it has been reported.
Football transfer sage, Fabrizio Romano, revealed the Gunners had agreed personal terms with the 28-year-old and had made contact with the Seagulls over a possible deal.
Officially, however, no bid has been made but one is expected in the coming days as the Gunners look to bolster their midfield options as they seek to hold on to top spot in the Premier League.
Trossard has only five months left on his deal with Brighton and has had a very public falling-out with manager Roberto di Zerbi. The Belgian’s agent has since made clear his client’s desire to move on without delay, alerting a host of potential suitors to his availability.
Having missed out on primary targets, Mudryk and Joao Felix, Mikel Arteta and Edu look to have moved quickly to plan B in an effort to sure up their title challenge.
